Folks here take barbecuing very seriously. This photo was taken at 9:30am. This grill was already full, beers had been opened, and eating had commenced!

Meeting with the Circuit Overseer
These are some of our fellow pioneers in the congregation. We all have such a great time in service together.
Lovely Ladies
These are some of the wonderful little girls that I have the privilege to study with. They are prepared before each study and ask very good questions. Anndralin, the little one in the purple top, attends the meetings with us. Because of her zeal for what she's learning, Acy and Cassie are studying too.
Cathy joined us right before she and her husband returned to the States. We are hoping to have them back with us again---and so are the girls!
Our Youngest Students
One day, we gave Natalee her own copy of the Watchtower with the pages for young children in it. She was supposed to keep it safe until we returned. When we came back, the outside of the magazine was a disaster, but the pages that she was going to study were in perfect shape! Natalee is the one in the photo with the little puzzle. It may appear that she is not paying attention, but she participated the whole time. Her cousin, Matches, who just turned four years old, was completely enjoying himself.
These first language of these children is Chuukese. They speak a little English, like hello, good-bye and they have all tried out my name. So, I started the study and Tim, who is about 12, translated. We reviewd the two pages twice. Then, as you can see in the photo below, Tim conducted the study on his own. We had such a great time making animal noises--no matter the language, it's always good for a laugh!
Taking photos of skirts has opened the way to many interesting conversations with local women. The owner of this skirt invited us to her home, offering directions and her phone number. She is from an outer island of Chuuk, called Ruo. She has had no contact with the truth, except she knows she has an uncle in Pohnpei that is a Witness.

"Now We Are Brothers"
It's been a little while since we've posted a picture of our extended family here in Guam. Tetfi called us Sunday morning to ask if we could take a picture of their family since they were all looking so good! This was the first meeting that Patrick wore a tie. After Marbelta, the oldest daughter tied all the ties, George, her brother, told Patrick, "Now we are brothers."
This looking good matches the good feelings they have on the inside. Although, we no longer study with them since they are being cared for by brothers and sisters in their language group, we are most definitely family with them. The time that they spent with us in our home taught us valuable lessons and helped them move closer to Jehovah. About two weeks before Tetfi and the kids left, she said she finally understood what we had been trying to help her understand---it doesn't matter what we want, we must know what Jehovah wants, make it what we want and do it, then we will be happy.
Patrick called John last week said he knows the only way to be happy is to do things Jehovah's way.
They have all, children included, made huge, life-altering adjustments because of getting to know Jehovah. Sometimes, it was so difficult they didn't think they could do it, but they are all learning to rely on Jehovah and the strength he gives to each of us.
Marbelta has joined the Theocratic Ministry School and should be participating in September.
We hope one day, you will all get to know our family.
