Pickles
This is a very sour pickle fruit. It grows on trees. If you happen to leave one in, let's say, your purse for a while, they are very soft, cold and slug-like -- quite a surprise when looking for your keys!
Onions, Anyone?
These flowers were so beautiful. I made the group stop so I could pick some. But, we quickly threw them out...they stink like old onions.
Plumeria
Plumeria smell so good, come in more colors than I have photos of, and are used to make fragrant leis.
A New Bird!
There are very few birds on Guam...sparrows, a few pigeons and some sea birds. Apparently, brown tree snakes ate all the pretty ones. Last month, we spotted this bird in the field across from our home. It is exciting to see a new variety. We're not sure what it is, but the concensus is that it's a sea bird, although we have not seen it fly. Perhaps it walked over from the beach. Anyway, we thought you'd like to see it.
What Will John Eat Next?!
This is some kind of dried, stinking fish. I think it's herring. When John chooses to indulge in this delight, he has to eat it quite alone.
Bushcutting--Goat Style
This goat is caring for his human family's lawn.
This group of goats is mowing next to a road in our area.
Out For a Walk
This older man is taking his carabao out for a walk one afternoon. He is walking up one of the busiest roads in Guam. The carabao doesn't seem to mind one bit.
