Early in our visit to Pohnpei, a nine year old boy, Sidney, was curious about what was happening at the home the construction group rented. Emily began to speak with him and discovered that he likes to read and enjoys knowing things about the Bible. She gave him her English copy of the Learn from the Great Teacher book. He started to tell his Mom, Reena, about Paradise. She thought it sounded good too. She accepted a Bible study. (She is in the top photo facing the camera.) The last time they studied, Reena told Emily that her son is very special and that because of him, they are friends.
Her friend, Ino (whose back is to the camera), sat in on Reena's study twice. She lives with a relative that is a Witness and comes to the meetings from time to time. Two weeks ago, she agreed to have a study of her own. The second photo is of Leona and Ino studying together for the first time as her son, Kelvin, looks on.
The last photo is of Carmen. She is the great-niece of Ino and followed along in her Ponapean Bible Teach book during Ino's study.
